Martabe Gold Mine is managed and operated by PT Agincourt Resources. The mine covers an area of 30 km2 that falls under the sixth generation of Contract of Work (CoW) covering a total area of 1.303 km2.

The resource as at 31 December 2018 includes 8.1 Moz of Gold and 69 Moz of Silver, with economic ore reserves of 4.5Moz gold and 34Moz silver. Production commenced at Martabe on 24 July 2012. The operating capacity of Martabe Gold Mine is 5.9Mtpa ore to produce in excess of 350,000 oz of Gold and 2-3 Moz of Silver per annum.

PT Agincourt Resources engages approximately 2,600 employees and contractors which more than 70 % have been recruited from South Tapanuli and other regions in North Sumatra.

PT Danusa Tambang Nusantara (PTDTN) is the majority shareholder of PT Agincourt Resources with a total 95% shareholding. The shareholders of PTDTN are PT United Tractors Tbk 60% and PT Pamapersada Nusantara 40%. These companies are part of the PT Astra International Tbk group. The 5% share ownership is owned by the Government of South Tapanuli Regency and North Sumatra Province (local governments).

To strengthen the existing maintenance management team and to ensure the achievement of the company objectives, the Martabe Gold Mine is looking for candidate to fill the role:

SENIOR MANAGER – ENVIRONMENT, HEALTH & SAFETY

This position will be based at Martabe Site in Environment, Health & Safety Department, working on schedule 2 weeks on; 1 week off and reports directly to Director General Manager Operations.

The Role of the Senior Manager – Environment, Health & Safety is to bring high level management and coordination to the key operational support functions of environmental management, worker health and safety management. The senior manager will be accountable for ensuring operational departments at Martabe are provided the support and guidance to deliver on PTAR’s goals of zero harm to the environment or personnel. The role will ensure that all regulatory requirements relating to environmental and safety management are delivered and maintain strong relationships with all levels of government in these areas. The senior manager will have direct input into various environmental studies related to ongoing development of the Martabe site and be responsible to for developing and implementing monitoring and management plans.

Candidates for this role would be expected to have the following qualifications and experience:

1. Minimum Bachelor Degree in Environmental Science / Management. Preferable Master Degree in Environmental Science / Management

2. Minimum 15 years’ experience in the mining industry predominately in the field of environmental management

3. Have formal qualifications in Occupational Safety (Desired but not essential)

4. Have certified of Pengawas Operasional Madya (POM) designation by ESDM

5. Extensive experience in all aspects of environmental management on a mine site including surface water controls, rehabilitation of mine impacted areas, biodiversity management, mine waste and tailings, Hazardous Waste management

6. Proven high level interaction with Central Government Ministry of Environment and Forestry

7. Proven high level interaction with Central Government ESDM.

8. Establishment of required monitoring and evaluation plans in line with mine site approved Environmental and Social Impact Assessments

9. Direct involvement in the execution of Environmental and Social Impact Assessments and delivery of these to relevant authorities

10. High level competency in personal computer applications including Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
