Enel eyeing N. Sumatra geothermal stake

Italian power firm Enel is interested to buy stake at North Sumatra geothermal power plant project that is being offered for sale by Australian firm Origin Energy.
Enel, along with local firm Sari Prima Energy and an undisclosed Chinese company are reviewing the project?s date, Ministry of Energy?s Geothermal Director Yunus Saefulhak told Petromindo.Com on Thursday.
Origin has 50 percent shares at OTP Geothermal which runs Sorik Marapi geothermal power plant project in Mandailing Natal regency, North Sumatra. Indian firm Tata Power and local firm Supraco hold shares in the project.
The project, which can be developed to up to 240MW capacity has secured PPA with state elecricity firm PLN.
