Enka Power eyeing Simbolon Samosir geothermal project

Turkey firm Enka Power has expressed interest to participate in the planned tender for the development of the 110 MW Simbolon Samosir geothermal power plant project in North Sumatra, according to an official at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

Director of Geothermal at the Directorate of New Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation of the ministry Yunus Saefulhak told Petromindo.com that Enka is a company in the electricity sector which has already generated up to 2,000 MW around the world such as in Nepal, Kenya, etc.

He added that US-based Ormat has also expressed interest in the project.
