The National Police has named former president director of PT Geo Dipa Energy, Samsudin Warsa as suspect in an alleged fraud case in relation to the construction of Patuha, West Java, and Dieng, Central Java, geothermal power plants.

This was said by Police spokesman Agus Rianto last week as reported by Antara.

Contractor PT Bumigas Energi filed the case against Geo Dipa to the police. According to the dossier, Bumigas was named in 2003 by Geo Dipa as the EPC contractor for the development of the Patuha and Dieng geothermal power plants worth a combined Rp 4.3 trillion.

As construction of the project was progressing, Bumigas failed to raise additional funds from a Hong Kong lender because Geo Dipa could not provide the requested geothermal concession permit to the lender.

Geo Dipa then in 2012 appointed another EPC contractor via repeat tender to proceed with the project, triggering Bumigas to file for the tender fraud accusation. (*)
