GE, PDSI collaborate in developing solutions for drilling services

US firm General Electric (GE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding(MoU) with Pertamina Drilling Services Indonesia (PDSI) on April 6 to cooperate in developing integrated solutions for equipment and services for the exploration of oil, gas, and geothermal, The Jakarta Globe reported Thursday.

This MoU become a reference for GE and PDSI to collaborate in developing equipment as well as efficient and innovative solutions for onshore and offshore applications. In addition, this cooperation also allows GE to develop oil and gas technology that is more in accordance with the strategic objectives of Pertamina to anticipate technological needs, and shorten the delivery process.

This collaboration will include a review of opportunities to collaborate in developing the market of equipment and services to support the exploration operations of oil, gas and geothermal in Indonesia, as well as reviewing opportunities to develop facilities servicing / maintenance of equipment, storage of spare parts, and training centers, in order to develop the skills of engineers in Pertamina in performing the service.

The MOU was signed by Faried Rudiono, Director of Pertamina Drilling Services Indonesia and Iwan Chandra, President Director of GE Oil& Gas Indonesia; witnessed by Syamsu Alam, Director of Upstream, PTPertamina (Persero); and Visal Leng, Asia Pacific Regional General Manager ofGE Oil & Gas.

Faried Rudiono, Director of Pertamina Drilling Services Indonesia, said, ?We hope that through the support of research and developmentof GE, PDSI can provide innovative solutions for the users of our services. Inaddition, this partnership allows PDSI to develop new business opportunities for the growth of the company. "(*)
