Monday, November 28 2016 - 03:04 AM WIB

The government is drafting a new feed-in tariff policy for geothermal power plant projects in the country in a bid to help accelerate investment in the geothermal sector, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Monday.

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Ignasius Jonan said that the ministry has set up a team to formulize the new feed-in tariff policy. The team includes state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina and electricity firm PT PLN to help ensure electricity from geothermal plants to have ?fair price? both for the developers and PLN as the buyer of the power output.

?The feed-in tariff (policy) is still being discussed. Hopefully, it can be completed in a month,? he said on the sidelines of a visit to the Lahendong geothermal power plant project in North Sulawesi on Saturday. He did not provide further details. (*)
