The paper quoted Director of Geothermal at the Directorate General of New and Renewable Energy, Yunus Saifulhak as saying that the five is part of the 26 geothermal working areas to be offered to investors over the next 3-4 years.

He said that the five geothermal working areas are deemed to be the most ready to put on tender both in terms of location and interest from investors.

Yunus said that tender for the Gunung Lawu in Central Java and Danau Ranau in South Sumatra, which respectively hold geothermal potential of 165 MW and 110 MW, respectively, will be held either in July or August as there are already interested investors in them. (*)
