Government unveils PQ tender for Jambi geothermal power project

The Directorate General of New and Renewable Energy at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources unveiled on Wednesday preq-qualification (PQ) tender for the development of the Graho Nyabu geothermal working area in Jambi.

The directorate said in a tender announcement that the 109,000-ha Graho Nyabu geothermal working area is located in Merangin and Kerinci regencies, with estimated reserves of 200 MW, and geothermometer of 260 Celsius.

It added that the plan is to develop a 110 MW geothermal power plant, which is targeted to start commercial operation in 2025. The directorate said that ceiling price for electricity to be produced from the power plant is set at 15.9 US cent per kWh.

The directorate said that interested bidders, individual company or consortium, can get the registration document on September 27-October 20, 2016 between 09.00 and 15.00 Western Indonesia Time (WIB) with the tender committee at the directorate?s office with the following address:
