Govt inviting bids for five geothermal acreages

The Directorate General of New Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (EBTKE) announced on Tuesday the tender of five geothermal working areas with power generation potentials of 730 MW.

The five acreages are as follows:
1. WKP Kepahiang in Bengkulu with area size of 35,730 ha and probable resources of 180 MW
2. WKP Marana in Donggala regency, Central Sulawesi with probable resources of 40 MW
3. WKP Way Ratai in Pesawaran, Tanggamus, Lampung Selatan, and Bandar Lampung regencies in Lampung with area size of 70,710 ha and probable resources of 105 MW.
4. WKP Gunung Lawu in Karang Anyar, Sragen, Wonogiri, Ngawi and Magetan regencies, located in two provinces Central Java and East Java with area size of 60,030 MW.
5. WKP Danau Ranau in Ogan Komering Ulu Selatan and Lampung Barat regencies, located in two provinces Lampung and South Sumatra with area size of 8,561 ha and probable resources of 210 MW.

Indonesia has geothermal resources of 29,475.5 MW, scattered in 324 locations. However, of the potentials, only 1,438.5 MW has been developed, according to the statement.
