Govt to hold tender for 25 geothermal working areas in 2015

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources plans to hold tender for 25 geothermal working areas with combined power capacity of 1,270 MW this year, Bisnis Indonesia reported Wednesday.
The paper quoted Director General of Renewable Energy at the ministry Rida Mulyana as saying that the tender would be implemented gradually. It was supposed to be held in 2014, he added, but was pushed to next year.
Rida said that state-owned electricity company PLN would be assigned to developer smaller capacity of geothermal power plants, as private investors are not interested in them. (*)
