Hitay selects two geothermal locations for further development

Turkish firm Hitay Investment Holdings has selected only two of 10 geothermal locations surveyed by the company to be further developed into the Geothermal Working Areas (WKPs).

"Based on the results of a survey of geothermal in 10 locations by Hitay and evaluation results of Geological Agency and EBTKE, then Hitay only chose two locations, namely Gunung Lawang (South Sumatra) and Gunung Kembar (Aceh)," Director of Geothermal at Directorate General of New and Renewable and Energy Conservation (EBTKE), Yunus Saefulhak told Petromindo.com.

Meanwhile, the eight other locations have prospects due to low to medium temperature, so they?re not feasible to be developed, according to Yunus.

"Currently we are still detailing the survey data again to make sure both locations," he said.
