Kamojang unit V set to start operation

The Kamojang geothermal power plant unit V (35 MW) in Garut, West Java, is set to start operation this month, Kontan reported on Monday.
The paper said that construction of the project has been 96 percent completed, and project owner PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy (PGE) is now waiting for the results of the reliability test.
PGE Corporate Secretary Tafip Azimuddin told the paper over the weekend that once the test has been completed, the Kamojang unit V will distribute power to transmissions owned by state power firm PLN in Java and Bali.
PGE has spent about US$175 million for the project, developed jointly by Japan?s Sumitomo Corporation and Indonesian state-owned engineering firm PT Rekayasa Industri. (*)
