Medco to drill first well at Ijen geothermal project in 2015

PT Medco Power Indonesia (MPI) plans to drill the first exploration well at its 2x55 MW geothermal development project in Ijen, East Java, next year, according to an official of the company.
?This year we are more focused on drilling program, making preparations for the drilling of the first well. We will drill the well next year,? MPI President Director Fazil E. Alfitri told Petromindo.com.
He said at this time the company is building the necessary infrastructure facilities, complete land acquisition, and obtain the necessary permits. ?We have obtained the first permit,? Fazil said without explaining the meaning of the ?first permit?.
The company expects the 2x55 MW geothermal power plant to start commercial operation in 2018.
