MEMR plans tender for three geothermal working areas

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) will hold tender for three geothermal working areas including Gunung Talang-Bukit Kili in West Sumatra, Marana in Central Sulawesi, and Way Ratai in Lampung.

The ministry?s Directorate General of New and Renewable Energy provided in a statement Thursday the following information about the three geothermal working areas.

The 27,000-ha Gunung Talang-Bukit Kili geothermal working area, located in Solok Regency, has estimated reserves of 65 MW, and a planned capacity development of 20 MW. Celing price for the geothemal project is set at 14.6 US cent per kWh, with a commercial operate date target of 2022.

The 48,300-ha Marana geothermal working area, located in Donggala Regency, has an estimated reserves of 36 MW with planned development capacity of 20 MW. Ceiling price for the project is set at 21.3 US cents per kWh, with commercial operation date target of 2022.

The 70,710-ha Way Ratai geothermal working area, which spans over Pesawaran, Tanggamus, and South Lampung regencies and Bandar Lampug city, has estimated reserves of 105 MW, and planned development capacity of 55 MW. Ceiling price for the project is set at 14.6 US cents per kWh, with commercial operate date target of 2022.

The directorate said that tender registration document can be obtained on December 22, 2015 ? February 1, 2016 at the office building of the Directorate General of New an Renewable Energy, third floor, on Jl Pengangsaan Timur No 1, Menteng, Central Jakarta.

The document can also be accessed via www.ebtke.esdm.go.id starting December 23.

Tender registration for the three geothermal working areas will be held on December 29, 2015.
