MEMR presents K3L2 awards to geothermal power plants

The ministry of energy and mineral resources (MEMR) presented awards on the management of occupational safety and health, and environmental protection (K3L2) to a number of companies involve in geothermal power plants in 2015 in Kuta, Bali, on Thursday.

The MEMR stated in a press release issued on Friday that the awards are the appreciation of the government for those companies which already implemented the K3L2 in their operations. ?The geothermal operations are high risk. That?s why they should integrate the K3L2 principle into their own operations,? the MEMR?s Director General of New, Renewable Energy and Energy Consevation (EBTKE), Rida Mulyana, said when addressing the ceremony of presenting the awards on Thursday night.

The awards were given based on evaluations in two categories, namely management of occupational safety and health (K3), and their management of environmental protection (L2) in their geothermal projects.
