MEMR to hold tender for three geothermal projects in H1

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) is scheduled to hold tender for three geothermal power plant projects in the first semester of this year, said Director of Geothermal at the Directorate General of New and Renewable Energy, Tisnaldi.

He said that the three projects are part of the 25 geothermal power plants with a combined capacity of 1,225 MW to be developed over the next three years.

Tisnaldi was quoted by CNN Indonesia as saying that the three geothermal power projects include the Gunung Lawu geothermal project in the border of Central and East Java, the Telaga Ranu geothermal project in West Halmahera, North Maluku, and the Songa Wayaua geothermal project in South Halmahera, North Maluku, which respectively has a designed capacity of 165 MW, 2x5 MW, and 2x2.5 MW.

He said that tender will be held first for the Gunung Lawu project. No further details were provided. (*)
