PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy (PGE), a subsidiary of state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina, aims to complete the development of two additional units of the Ulubelu geothermal power plant in Tanggawas, Lampung, within the next two years.

?Unit III is expected (to be completed) in August 2016, while unit IV we?re targeting to complete it in 2017,? said Upstream Director of Pertamina, Syamsu Alam during a visit in Ulubelu Monday as quoted by Kompas.com.

Unit III and IV will each have a capacity of 55 MW, with total investment requirement of US$524.26 million, funded via World Bank loan.

One of the efforts to accelerate the project is through speedy acquisition of drilling permits, he said. PGE has earlier completed the construction of unit I and II. (*)
