PT Sejahtera Alam Energy (SAE), a private power company, is targeting to commence exploration drilling at the Baturaden geothermal working area in Central Java in the second quarter of 2017.

Dhanny (one name), General Assistant at SAE told Petromindo.com that the company will drill the first well with measured depth of around 3,000 meters to 4,000 meters.

?It will be the first exploration well, and the contractor is Halliburton,? he said on the side lines of the 4th Indonesia International Geothermal Convention and Exhibition in Jakarta last week.

Dhanny added that currently the contractor is conducting civil works, such as construction of roads, well pads and pipelines. He revealed that the company intends to develop a geothermal power plant with a capacity of up to 220 MW.
