Sorik Marapi to drill first geothermal well next month

PT Sorik Marapi Geothermal Power plans to drill the first exploration well at its geothermal concession in Mandailing Natal, North Sumatra, in September 2016.
Irfansyah, Government Relations Manager of the company told Petromindo.com on Thursday that the company is targeting to drill around three to four exploration wells in 2016.
?But for the first well it is expected to be drilled by next month,? he said, on the side lines of the 4th Indonesia International Geothermal Convention and Exhibition in Jakarta.
He added that the company is targeting to drill around eight wells in the second quarter of 2017. ?So totally, we will drill around 11 wells by the first semester of 2017.?
The company is planning to develop a geothermal power plant with the capacity of 240 MW in Mandailing Natal.
