The Supreme Court has rejected a case review filed by state-owned geothermal company PT Geo Dipa Energi (GDE) in relation to dispute with PT Bumigas Energi (BGE) over geothermal power plant projects, reports said on Thursday.
BGE lawyer Bambang Siswanto was quoted as saying that the ruling has confirmed the company to be the valid developer of the Dieng and Patuha geothermal power plant projects, respectively located in Central and West Java.
The case started when DGE cancelled BGE as the winning bidder for the two projects in 2010, and held a re-tender, although BGE had already made investment since it won the projects in 2005. BGE failed at initial efforts to sue DGE. BGE then won an appeal at the Supreme Court, cancelling an earlier ruling by the South Jakarta District Court.
Former DGE President Director Samsudin Warsa in November was named as a suspect over alleged fraud. and is now awaiting for trial. (*)
