PT Supreme Energy Muaralabuh (SEML) plans to drill another seven geothermal wells at the Liki Pinangawan geothermal working area in South Solok Regency, West Sumatra, Investor Daily reported on Tuesday.
?The drilling of seven wells will probably be held at the end of 2015 or early 2016,? said Arif Taruna Prawira, a manager at SEML, as quoted by the paper, adding that drilling will start at locations which have been acquired by the company.
SEML has previously conducted drilling at seven wells, but only two, namely ML A1 and ML H1 wells, seen to have geothermal potential.
?The ML A1 could produce 25 MW electricity, while ML H1 only around 6-8 MW,? Arief said. ?The second stage drilling program will be directed to the south, which is expected to have greater potential.?
SEML plans to develop a 2x110 MW geothermal power plant in the area. (*)
