Tangkuban Perahu to soon decide contractor to carry out geothermal drilling

PT Tangkuban Parahu Geothermal Power, a subsidiary of PT Indonesia Power, will soon decide the contractor that will carry out geothermal exploration drilling in Lembang, West Java.

Tangkuban Perahu President Director Sugeng Triyono told petromindo.com on Wednesday that a letter of intent (LoI) will be issued on August 29 to the winner of the current beauty contest held to select the contractor.

?There are two contractors participating in the beauty contest, Schlumberger and Halliburton. We will chose the best one from these two participants,? he said.

Sugeng said that once the LoI has been issued, the drilling activity is expected to be started by November 2016.

?For this year we will drill one well with the measured depth of up to 3000 meters,? he said, adding that if this drilling shows good results, the company plans to drill two other wells next year.
