Ten firms obtain tax allowance facility

The government has provided tax allowance facility this year for ten companies operating in various fields as part of new economic policy package to help accelerate investment economic growth, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Monday.

The paper quoted Haris Munandar, Head of Research and Development Agency at the Ministry of Industry, as saying that the tax allowance facility given to foreign investment and domestic investment firms is in line with existing regulations.

According to government document obtained by the paper, the ten firms include PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia with investment of Rp 2.76 trillion, PT PGN LNG Indonesia with investment of Rp 2.85 trillion, PT Wilmar Bioenergi Indonesia with investment of US$36 million, PT Fonterra Brands Manufacturing Indonesia with investment of $29.6 million, PT Hino Motors Manufacturing Indonesia with investment of $202.5 million, PT Supreme Energi Muara Laboh Investasi (geothermal company, no data on size of investment), PT Wilmar Nabati Indonesia with investment of Rp 828 billion, PT Suzuki Indomobil Motor with investment of Rp 11.65 trillion, PT Shell Manufacturing Indonesia with investment of $131 million, and PT Hankook Tire Indonesia with investment of $428 million.

Haris said that other companies are still waiting whether their proposed tax allowance, or tax reduction, would be approved by the government. The companies are among others PT Indotama Polychem Indonesia, PT Caterpillar Indonesia Batam, PT Feni Haltim, PT Well Harvest Winning, PT synthetic Rubber Indonesia, PT Sulawesi Mining Investment, and PT Sateri Viscose Internasional.
