Three firms pass second bidding round for Gunung Lawu geothermal area

The Directorate General of New and Renewable Energy at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources announced Tuesday that three companies have passed the second bidding round for the Gunung Lawu geothermal working area.
The directorate said that the three firms are PT Ormat Geothermal Indonesia, PT Pertamina, and PT Star Energy Geothermal Indonesia.
The more than 60,000-ha Gunung Lawu geothermal area, with electricity generation capacity potential of 165 MW, spans a number of regencies in the provinces of Central and East Java.
