Two firms appointed to carry out geothermal survey in E. Java

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has appointed PT Hitay Runcing Energy and PT Hitay Rawas Energy to carry out preliminary survey of geothermal potential in two locations in East Java.
According to a copy of a decree signed by then minister Jero Wacik on August 29, Hitay Runcing will carry out survey of geothermal potential in Gunung Rawang area covering 136,000 hectares spanning three regencies in East Java including Bondowoso, Jember, and Banyuwangi.
Another decree, also signed by the minister on August 29, assigns Hitay Rawas to carry out geothermal potential survey in Krucil-Tiris area covering 108,600 in Probolinggo, Lumajang and Jember regencies in East Java.
The two firms were given 12 months since the signing of the decrees to carry out the preliminary survey, which can?t be transferred to other parties. All costs related to the survey will be covered by the companies.
