Two geothermal areas in W. Sumatra ready for tender

Two geothermal areas including Gunung Talang in Solok Regency and Bonjol in Pasaman Regency, both in West Sumatra Province, are ready to be offered to investors via tender, said Head of the Energy and Mining Office at the provincial administration, Marzuki Mahdi as quoted by Bisnis Indonesia on Monday.
Marzuki said that Gunung Talang has a potential to produce electricity of 50 MWe, while Bonjol 100 MWe.
?The two (areas) have been reviewed and assessed their potential. Now, they?re ready to be offered via tender to interested investors,? he said, adding that the geothermal power plant projects would help resolve the electricity shortage in the province. (*)
