LNG to Power in the Future

Despite Java Island has enjoyed surplus of electricity with power injection from large scale power stations, it remains very crucial to be watched because many road and railway development are being constructed and nearing completion. The completion of this basic infrastructure, theoritically could bring huge push power demand. What are the masterplan of Gas-LNG utilisation to anticipate the demand? Does coal actually will be abandoned and for how long?

In the meantime, several special economic zones and industrial areas are in dire for robust power supply, especially tourism. Some Special Economic Zones (KEK) and industries are potentially viable to be supplied, since some of them are supposed to be operational within the next 5 years. It is estimated Special Economic Zones and industries new demand reach 9,400 MW within the period of 2017-2026.

Utilising Solar PV for Big & Small Market

Cheaper production cost and significant abundance of solar PV has led the cost of electricity generation upto 23 percent less compared to couple years ago. Demand for solar PV installation in households and industries in Indonesia will increase by more than 50 percent on average if the target of 6.5 GW in 2025 is set to be achieved. But reliability and integration remain the largest problem that must be thoroughly calculated. The IPP scheme of Solar PV also posses promising ventures in the future. Hear from the Ministry of how the pricing mechanism will be altered to stimulate more Solar PV contribution.
