IFTAR COAL METAL ASIA 2026

Gold Sponsor:
Pertalub

IFTAR COALMETAL ASIA 2026 will be held in Jakarta during Ramadan as an informal, high-level industry gathering bringing together coal producers, mining contractors, shipping and logistics companies, traders, analysts, and policymakers for a focused discussion on the 2026 market and operational landscape.

Building on the 2025 edition, the 2026 iftar is designed to address a more challenging environment: tighter government production targets, structural pressure on export markets, rising cost of operations, and the growing imperative to pivot toward domestic demand from power plants and nickel smelters.

For 2026, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR), through the Directorate General of Mineral and Coal, has signaled a more conservative production posture, with a 600 million ton target intended to preserve reserves, stabilize the market, and reinforce environmental and governance priorities. At the same time, coal producers must contend with margin compression as prices moderate while fuel, labor, and equipment costs remain elevated, forcing a sharper focus on unit cost reduction, fleet efficiency, and technology adoption across the value chain. On the demand side, Indonesia’s rapidly expanding nickel smelting industry and stable domestic power sector are reshaping coal flows, logistics patterns, and contractual frameworks, creating both new opportunities and new operational risks for mid-tier and smaller miners.

To help industry players navigate this transition, IFTAR COALMETAL ASIA 2026 will convene a keynote policy briefing official from the Director General of Mineral and Coal, followed by a multi-stakeholder panel featuring a mining contractor leader, shipping executive, coal producer representatives, and a coal market analyst, with nickel industry voice from APNI to bridge coal–nickel demand linkages.

The discussion will dive into five core themes: government policy and RKAB implementation, domestic smelter and power market prospects, operational efficiency and equipment optimization (including lubricants), supply chain and freight economics, and long-term strategic positioning for midtier producers in the energy transition era.

The event format will retain the successful 2025 concept:
  • Keynote Presentation: Delivered by a Senior Official from the Directorate General of Mineral and Coal on the 2026 policy framework, production targets, RKAB allocation, and digitalization via MinerbaOne.
  • Panel Discussion: Moderated by a senior representative from Pertamina Lubricants, ensuring the conversation connects policy, market outlook, operational efficiency, and supply chain solutions, including the role of advanced industrial lubricants in reducing unit costs and improving equipment uptime.
  • Buka Puasa and Networking: Dedicated iftar and post-Maghrib networking sessions enabling direct business discussions between coal producers, contractors, shippers, traders, and solution providers such as Pertamina Lubricants.
  • Schedule & Venue: The program will start at 17:00 WIB and run for approximately four hours, hosted at a premium business lounge Enduro x Fastron Lounge di Gedung Oil Centre, Jakarta Pusat Jakarta.
