Electrical Technician / Senior Technician

(Open to Fresh Graduates and Experienced Professionals)

PT Lestari Banten Energi is a thermal power plant operating within the Java–Madura–Bali (Jamali) Grid, with an installed capacity of 1 × 670 MW. We are currently seeking highly motivated and dedicated electrical professionals to join our Maintenance Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (E-C&I) Department. We welcome applications from both fresh graduates and experienced professionals who are passionate about building their careers in the power generation and heavy industrial industries.

Position Information

Position Title  : Electrical Senior Technician(experience) / Technician (Fresh Graduate)

Reports To  : Electrical Supervisor

 

Senior Technician

Qualifications

1. Minimum Diploma (D3) degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably with a specialization in High Voltage Engineering.

2. Minimum 5 years of experience as an Electrical Technician in a power plant or heavy industrial environment.

3. Maximum age of 35 years.

4. Strong ability to read and interpret Electrical Single Line Diagrams (SLD) and schematic diagrams.

5. Extensive hands-on maintenance experience with high-voltage (HV), medium-voltage (MV), and low-voltage (LV) electrical equipment, including Power Transformers, Generators, Generator Circuit Breakers (GCB), Protection Relays, Switchgear, Medium Voltage Motors, Battery Systems, UPS Systems, Variable Frequency Drives (VFD).

6. Sound understanding of HV/MV/LV electrical systems in power plant applications, including Large Power Transformers, Turbo Generators, Boiler, Electrostatic Precipitators (ESP), Coal Handling Systems, Ship Unloaders, Stacker Reclaimers, Power Centres (PC) and Motor Control Centres (MCC), Electrical Protection Systems.

7. Experience with electrical testing equipment such as circuit breaker analysers, relay secondary injection test sets, and similar instruments is an advantage.

8. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

9. Able to work effectively under pressure and adapt to dynamic operational and field conditions.

10. Demonstrates strong knowledge and commitment to electrical safety practices and procedures.

 

Technician (Fresh Graduate)

Qualifications

1. Diploma (D3) or bachelor’s degree (S1) in Electrical Engineering, preferably specializing in High Voltage Engineering, from a reputable university with IPK minimum 3.25/4.00.

2. Maximum age of 24 years.

3. Basic understanding of Electrical Single Line Diagrams (SLD) and schematic diagrams.

4. Strong willingness to learn, develop technical competencies, and build a professional career in the power generation industry.

5. Good communication skills and a proactive attitude toward teamwork and problem-solving.

 

Key Responsibilities

1. Perform predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance activities on electrical systems and equipment within the Steam Turbine Generator (STG), Boiler, Balance of Plant (BOP), and Coal Handling Plant (CHP) areas, including conveyors, stacker reclaimers, and ship unloaders.

2. Identify equipment defects and failures, perform troubleshooting and repair activities, and communicate findings, root causes, and corrective actions to supervisors.

3. Monitor and supervise third-party contractors involved in maintenance activities, including HVAC systems, fire protection systems, outage works, and other specialized maintenance projects.

4. Ensure maintenance activities are carried out in compliance with company procedures, safety regulations, and applicable technical standards.

5. Maintain accurate maintenance records and provide timely reports on equipment conditions and maintenance activities.

6. Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and safety performance.
