Higher royalty tariff adds more pressure to Indonesia’s mining sector
Indonesia’s mining industry is facing mounting challenges following theimplementation of Government Regulation No. 19/2025, which revises the types and tariffs of Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) under the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM). The regulation, signed by President Prabowo Subianto on April 11 and enacted on April 26, introduces higher royalty rates for mineral and coal producers in a bid to boost state revenue.
