10 firms submit PSO fuel tender documents

A total of ten firms have submitted bids for contracts to distribute subsidized fuels, also called public service obligation (PSO) fuels, for 2010, according to oil and oil upstream regulator BPH Migas

The ten firms are PT Petrobas Indonesia, PT Shell Indonesia, PT Aneka Kimia Raya Corporindo Tbk, PT Petronas Indonesia, PT Medco Sarana Kalibaru, PT Pertamina (Persero), PT Total Oil Indonesia, PT Patra Niaga, PT Bumi Asri Prima Pratama and PT Petro Andalan Nusantara.

Three other firms, that is PT Humpuss Trading, PT Asia Star Internasional, dan PT River Lake Diwa Nusantara, had promised to send their tender documents via post, BPH Migas?s Fuel Director Erie Soedarmo said.

?Under the existing regulation, the bids can be delivered via post and it is valid as long as the post mark indicates they have been sent by the deadline,? Erie said.

The agency has set Friday (today) as the deadline for bidders to submit their bidding documents. Those who fail to submit their tender documents by the deadline will not be invited to participate in a similar tender next year, Erie said.

After receiving all the tender documents, BPH Migas will invite all the firms to hold a presentation on their readiness to distribute the subsidized fuel on July 21-22. This will be followed by BPH Migas doing ?field verification? from July 23 through Aug. 15, 2009, he said. (Godang)
