At least 10 oil and gas fields are expected to go on stream within the next five years, according to the progress reports filed by oil and gas production sharing contractors (PSCs) with gas and oil upstream regulator BPMIGAS.

BPMIGAS' chairman R.Priyono said in Jakarta on Monday that four of the oil and gas fields were expected to begin production in 2009 with a total output of about 5,794 barrels per day (bpd) of crude oil and 46.9 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas.

The four fields are Pulau Gading and Sungai Kenawang field operated by JOB Pertamina-Hess Jambi Merang; Alur Siwah, Alur Rambong and Julu Rayeu field operated by Medco Malaka; Sabak field operated by JOB Bumi Siak Pusako-Pertamina, and Duri Area 11 operated by Chevron Pacific Indonesia.

The other three fields are expected to go on stream in 2010. They include Randublatung, Kedunglusi, Kedungtuban fields operated by Pertamina EP; Bukit Tua field operated by ConocoPhillips, and Rubi field operated by PearlOil.

The three fields are projected to produce about 2,286 bpd of oil and 154.9 MMSCFD of gas.

BPMIGAS said that the remaining three fields are expected to begin pumping oil and gas in 2011, 2012 and 2013, respectively. They include Madura BD field operated by Husky Oil; South Mahakam field operated by Total EP Indonesia and Deepwater Kutai Basin field operated by Chevron Indonesia and ENI. (godang)
