11 firms eye Abadi field feasibility work

Deputy Chairman Hardiono told Petromindo.Com on Wednesday that the participants are: 1) PT Inti Karya Persada Teknik, 2) PT Tripatra Engineering, 3) PT Rekayasa Industri, 4) PT Singgar Mulia, 5) PT Raga Perkasa Engineering, 6) Istech Resources Asia, 7) Technip Indonesia, 8)PT Klaras Pusaka Internasional, 9)PT Supasi Widya Engineering, 10) PT Worley Parsons Indonesia and 11) Pertafenikki Engineering.
Director General of Oil and Gas Evita Legowo said the winner will carry out the task of assessing the most economic way to exploit the field?s huge gas reserves. Evita said there are two options to develop the field, one is to build floating LNG plant and the other is to pipe the gas through 150-km to Tanimbar island where an LNG plant would be built.
She said the result of the study will determine whether the government would accept or reject plan of development submitted by INPEX.
INPEX is planning to develop a floating LNG facility with initial capacity of 4.5 million tonnes per annum with operations seen to start in 2016.(godang)
