14 geothermal projects not yet tendered out

The slow process of tender by regional governments is hampering the development of at least 14 geothermal power plants with a total capacity of 825 MW.
?We had previously targeted that the 14 power plants will be in operation during 2017-2019,? said Mochamad Sofyan, Head of New and Renewable Energy Division at state owned electricity firm PT PLN, on Tuesday as reported by Bisnis Indonesia.
On top of that, there are 3 projects whose tender have been carried out by local governments but could not yet be developed as the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources have not yet issued the assignment letter to PLN.
The three projects are 2 x 5 MW PLTP Jailolo, 2 x 10 MW PLTP Hu?u and 2 x 55 MW PLTP Ijen.(*)
