14 oil, gas vessels seized for using fake documents

As many as 14 vessels used to support offshore oil and gas activities have been seized by the transportation ministry for allegedly using fake use-of-foreign-ship permit (PPKA).

Sunaryo, the director general of sea transportation at the transportation ministry, told Petromindo.Com that the 14 vessels which were seized on Thursday, but he did not give details.

Sources said that the 14 vessels mostly comprised of crew boats, tug boats and pontoon boats, which are operated by PT Swasti Bahari Utama.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the Indonesian Offshore Shipping Association (IOSA), Budhi H.M. Siregar said that the shipping companies which were found of using a fake PPKA documents could lose their permits. ( godang)
