14 oil producers get appreciation from BPMIGAS

As many as 14 oil and gas production sharing contractors (PSCs) have received letters of appreciation from oil and gas upstream sector regulator BPMIGAS for their achievement in oil production.

According to BPMIGAS, the 14 contractors could produce oil above the intial targets in 2009. They include PT. Medco E&P Indonesia (Tarakan), JOB PN-Talisman (OK) Ltd., Citic Seram Energy Ltd., VICO Indonesia, Santos (Madura Offshore) Pty.Ltd., PT Chevron Pacific Indonesia, ConocoPhillips Indonesia, PetroChina International Bermuda, Kodeco Energy Co.Ltd., Chevron Indonesia Co., JOB PN-Costa International Group Ltd., Total E&P Indonesie, ExxonMobil Oil Indonesia Inc., and PT. Medco E&P Indonesia.

In 2009. the country?s oil production reached 960,000 barrels per day (bpd), or about 98.91 percent of the government's target. The 14 companies produced a total of 662,455 bpd during the year, higher than the combined initial target of 619,450 bpd.
