14 power looters to go to court

The state electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) has successfully caught some 14-power looters in Jakarta. The looters would be brought to the court for their crime.

The 14 power looters, which owed PLN some Rp 10 billion in electricity bill in January-February alone, are mostly office and hotel buildings, which a source said that the Rasuna Said Apartment was included. The apartment belongs to the Bakrie Group conglomerate.

But Bakrie public relations officer Mara Lalu denied it, pointing out that the apartment was cheated by PLN officials and apartment officials to use a device which turned out looted the PLN power.

PLN president Kuntoro Mangkusubroto has vowed to resolve the rampant power looting particularly done by companies and businesses in a bid to help turn the company into the blac. (*)
