15 investors interested in gold mines in C. Kalimantan

At least 15 foreign investors and Indonesian private business companies are interested in developing the gold mines in North Barito regency, Central Kalimantan.

According to local administration sources in Muara Teweh Tuesday, they promised various facilities and good service for investors in the development of natural resources in the region.

The gold content in the interior of the Barito river stream has an average purity of 99 percent, normally known as 24-carat gold.

At present PT Indo Moro Kencana is the only gold mining company operating in the regency since 1994, while those still in the exploratory stage are PT Banum Bukit Mineral on 1.4 million ha in Tanah Siang and Lahei subdistricts, and PT Anjarsamba Kencana on 8,585 ha in Sumber Barito subdistrict.

In the meantime the gold mining company still in a general survey stage are PT Kalimantan Surya Kencana (121,900 ha) in Gunung Purei subdistrict, PT Pasifik Masao Mineral (106,848 ha) and PT Pasifik Jangkang Mineral (248,300 ha) in Sumber Barito subdistrict.

The names of the foreign investors were still withheld. (*)
