2012 coal and most mineral outputs up, says minister

Indonesia's coal production throughout 2012 reaches 386 million tons or 109% compared to 2011 output of 356 million tons, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Jero Wacik said in a statement.

Out of the total output, 82 million tons were allocated for domestic consumption while 304 million tons were exported.

Jero said production is expected to reach 391 million tons in 2013, with 74,32 million tons for DMO, up from 67,3 million tons in previous year.

For other minerals, copper concentrate reached 804,000 tons from 618,000 tons in previous year, gold at 66 tons from 78 tons in 2011, tin at 91,000 tons from 54,000 tons, nickel ore at 35 million tons from 33 million tons, ferronickel at 19,000 tons from 18,000 tons, bauxite at 29 million tons from 41 million tons and iron ore at 10 million tons from 11 million tons in 2011.
