The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has decided on the percentage of 2013 domestic market obligation, at the minimum of 20.30 percent.
The decision, stated within Decision Letter No.2934 Kl30/MEM/2012 about Demand and Minimum Percentage of Coal Sales for Domestic Market in 2013, came from the estimated coal production by DMO subjected companies, consisting of namely 45 CCoW license holders, a state owned miner, and 28 IUP Operation Production license holders, accumulating to a total output of 366,042,287 tons.
The percentage is percentage of the estimated domestic demand throughout 2013, which is around 75.32 million tons, against the estimated total output.
It was expected that the state owned electricity company PLN will need around 60.49 million tons of coal for its steam power plants, while the nation's steel industry will need around 0.74 million tons.
The rest of the 13.09 million tons will be allocated for local cement, textile, fertilizer as well as pulp and paper companies.
