The selection committee formed the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has selected 30 out of 100 names proposed to become director generals at the ministry.

?There were 100 names proposed. Around 30 of them have passed first selection process and will go the next phase of selection,? Supramu Santosa, a member of the selection committee, said.

The 30 people are competing for four director general positions, namely directors general of oil and gas, mineral and coal, electricity and new renewable and energy conservation, he said.

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Sudirman Said introduced an auction system to choose the director generals, rather than picking them up himself from inside the ministry ? a copy of the system employed by President Joko Widodo in choosing his staff while he was the governor of Jakarta. Anyone from inside and outside the ministry can propose themselves to the selection committee.

Sources said among the 30 names are Montty Girianna, Deputy of Energy and Mineral Resources at the Office of Coordinating Minister of the Economy; Bambang Adi Winarso, Expert Staff for National Competitiveness Development at the Office of Coordinating Minister of the Economy. The names from inside the ministry include Djoko Siswanto, Umi Asngadah, Rida Mulyana and Saleh Abdurahman.
