38.4 cargoes of LNG still unsold this year

A total of 38.4 cargoes of LNG which Indonesia is set to produce this year from the Bontang LNG plant in East Kalimantan and the Tangguh LNG plant in West Papua still have no buyers, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources said on Tuesday.

Director General of Oil and Gas IGN Wiratmaja said of the total, 30 cargoes are supposed to be produced from Bontang and eight cargoes from Tangguh.

Wiratmaja said efforts are ongoing to sell the LNG on the spot market. ?At present, there are 28 cargoes whose deliveries are being negotiated with domestic buyers as well buyers from Japan, Korea. The remaining 10 cargoes still have no buyers,? Wiratmaja said.
