As many 60 companies have met the administrative requirements set by state oil and gas company PT Pertamina for participation in the tender for contracts to develop the firm?s oil and gas fields.

Subyanto, Pertamina EP corporate secretary, said on Tuesday that the firm had invited 274 firms to participate in the bidding for contracts to develop its field. However, only 77 companies have sent the required documents.

?Only 60 companies are considered to have met the administrative requirements. The companies will thus be given access to (the fields?) data before making their own bidding proposal. Winners will be decided based on the bidding proposals,? Subaryanto said.

Tri Siwindono, Pertamina EP?s development director, explained that the interested bidders had to buy the data from the Directorate General of Oil and Gas at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

Subiyanto said the 60 companies include some big foreign companies, but he refused to name them.

Pertamina is seeking partners to develop many of its fields due to the lack of resources and pressure by the government on the firm to develop the fields. The fields are located in various parts of the country. (Godang)
