‪Bumi records the best ever output in Q1

Indonesia biggest coal producer PT Bumi Resources Tbk produced 19.7 m tons in the first quarter 2013, claiming it as the best ever output performance in the first three months of a year.

The company produced only 15.8 million tons in Q1 last year.

Bumi's director and corporate secretary, Dileep Srivastava told Petromindo.com that Bumi's output in first quarter usually disrupted by heavy rainfall. He said that coal sales are estimated at 19.1 million tons in the first quarter, higher than last year's 15.8 million tons.

"In Q1'13 strip ratio (a measure of cost efficiency) dropped to 9.5 (vs 10.8 in Q1'12). Our Q1'13 closing inventory is at comfortable level of 5.5 million tons," he said.
