9 PSCs find new oil, gas reserves this year: BPMIGAS

Nine production sharing contractors (PSCs) have found new oil and gas reserves in various places across the country this year.

The nine PSCs are Seleraya Merangin, PetroChina Jabung, Chevron Pacific Indonesia (CPI), SPE West Kampar, Pertamina EP, JOB Pertamina-PetroChina East Java, PetroChina Kepala Burung, ENI Muara Bakau and Anadarko Nunukan

Head of upstream oil and gas regulatory body BPMIGAS, R. Priyono said on Tuesday that the new reserves amounted to 230 million barrels of oil and 2.8 trillion standard cubic feet (TSCF) of gas.

About the status of the country?s oil and gas reserves as of January, 2010, Priyono said that P1 (proved) oil reserves reached 430.17 million barrels, while the P2 and P 3 (potential) reserves reached 1,833.19 million barrels and 1,701.11 million barrels, respectively.

As for the gas reserves, Priyono said that the P1, P2 and P3 reserves reached 108.39 trillion standard feet (TSF), 25.89 TSF and 22.85 TSF, respectively.

Priyono said that the government?s revenues from oil and gas reached $26.17 billion as of Dec.18, or 4 percent above the target, while the realized disbursement of cost recovery funds reached $11.95 billion or 98.1 percent of the target. (bernard/kanti)
