944 development wells drilled in 2011

Production oil sharing contractors (PSCs) managed to drill 944 development wells, consisting of oil wells, gas wells, and others like injection and observation wells, during the year 2011.

Based on a 2011 report by the energy and mineral resources ministry?s directorate general of oil and gas, the drillings along the year 2011 were five percent higher than the target of 895 development wells.

It stated in the report, received by Petromindo.com in Jakarta on Tuesday, the PSC contractors conducting the drillings were PT CPI at 266 wells, Pertamina EP at 75 wells, Total E&P at 86 wells, and other PSC contractors at 169 wells.

The drillings of development wells in 2011 were higher than those in 2010 which saw drillings realized at 917 wells. Prior to that, drillings of development wells amounted to 904 wells in 2009, 936 wells in 2008, 656 wells in 2007, 541 wells in 2006, and 384 wells in 2005.
