Upstream authority SKK Migas said a total of 18 cargoes of locally-produced LNG allocated for the local market last year found no buyers.
SKK Migas? Chairman Amien Sunaryadi blamed the weak domestic market demand on the lack of infrastructures. Nevertheless, SKK Migas will continue allocating LNG cargoes to domestic market, he said bot stopped short of specifying that amount of LNG cargoes allocated for the domestic market.
Meanwhile, SKK Migas?s Vice Chairman Zikrullah said at present there are now 18 cargoes of LNG still uncommitted.
?Of the 18 cargoes, 16 is from the Bontang LNG plant and two from Tangguh LNG plant,? Zikrullah said, but stopped short of explaining where the 18 LNG cargoes will be sold.
Data collected by Petromindo last year indicates Indonesia will produce 250 cargoes of LNG this year, consisting of 140 cargoes from the Bontang LNG plant in East Kalimantan and 110 cargoes from Tangguh LNG plant in West Papua.
