Abaco eyes oil refinery project in W. Sumatra

A foreign investment company called Abaco Pasific Indonesia plans to develop an oil refinery in Pasaman Barat Regency, West Sumatra Province, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Wednesday.
The paper quoted Head of the West Sumatra Investment Office (DPMPTSP), Maswar Dedi as saying that Abaco is currently in the process of obtaining the required permits.
He said that the company will import the required crude from the Middle East to produce fuel products at the refinery to meet fuel demand in Indonesia.
Maswar said that total investment is projected at around Rp 150 trillion, to be made in several stages. No further details were provided. (*)
