ABK sees 2010 coal output slightly higher

East Kalimantan coal miner PT Anugerah Bara Kaltim (ABK) is expected to produce 3.5-3.7 million tons this year, compared with 3.5 million tons in 2009, the company?s official told Petromindo.Com on Tuesday.

The official said that if weather condition is favorable, the company is optimistic to reach 3.7 million coal output.

The company is also planning to supply to domestic market for this year but the quantity has not been decided yet. Last year, the firm supplied state-owned electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) around 300,000 tons, the official added.

The company sells most of its coal under long-term contracts to South Korean power firm Kosep, buyers in Taiwan, Japan and India. (denny)
