ABM Investama boosts coal production

PT ABM Investama Tbk is currently focusing on the development of coal mines owned by its subsidiary PT Media Djaya Bersama in order to further boost the company?s coal production, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Friday.

ABM?s corporare secretary Ade R. Satan said in Jakarta on Thursday that Media Djaya?s coal production could reach 10 million tons in next five years.

Media Djaya is owned by PT Reswara Minergi Hartama, a subsidiary of ABM Investama. In addition to Media Djaya, Reswara also has several other coal mine subsidiaries including PT Tunas Inti Abadi and PT Buana Pelabuhan Reja.

?The mining concessions owned by Media Djaya mostly comprise of green fields. The current production is still in thousands of tons,? Ade said.

Ade said that mineable coal reserves at Media Djaya?s concession were estimated to reach 169 million tons. (*)
